Guide
How to upload photos to your gallery
Drag in photos from your phone or computer — including iPhone HEIC and camera RAW — and choose whether to keep full-resolution HD copies for downloads. Either way, browsing stays fast.
Standard vs HD at a glance
- Standard: optimised, sharp on any screen, light on storage — counts as 1 photo
- HD: keeps a full-resolution copy for downloads — counts as 3 photos
- Mix HD and standard freely in the same event
- Browsing always uses the fast optimised version
- Download serves whatever you uploaded — HD at full resolution
Formats
Picsta accepts JPEG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC (iPhone) and most camera RAW formats, so you can upload straight from a phone or a professional camera.
Step by step
- 1
Open your event and tap Upload
From the event page, tap Upload. Drag and drop photos into the window, or click to pick files — you can select a whole folder on supported browsers.
- 2
Choose standard or HD
Leave it on standard for fast, space-light photos, or turn on Upload in HD to keep a full-resolution copy for downloads.
- 3
Let it process
Photos are optimised for fast browsing and faces are detected in the background, usually within minutes. You can share the moment the upload finishes.
Frequently asked questions
- What photo formats can I upload?
- JPEG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC from iPhone, and most camera RAW formats. Browsing always uses a fast, optimised version regardless of what you upload.
- What's the difference between standard and HD?
- Standard photos are optimised so they're sharp on any screen and light on storage. HD keeps a full-resolution copy for downloads. Because HD takes about three times the space, each HD photo counts as three toward your plan's photo allowance.
- Does HD slow down browsing?
- No. Galleries always show the optimised version, so browsing stays fast. Only the Download button serves the full-resolution file for HD photos.
- Do I have to choose HD for every photo?
- No — you can mix HD and standard freely in the same event, and your Storage page shows the split.
