Guide
Create a group event so everyone shares photos together
When everyone has photos from the same day, a group event pools them into one gallery — and the part that makes it pleasant is that every person keeps their own personalised copy they fully control.
What makes it different
- Everyone uploads into one shared gallery
- Each member keeps a personalised copy they control
- Photos are tagged with who contributed them
- Mark your own uploads private even inside the group
- Any member can invite more contributors with the link or code
- Find Me works here too — each person finds their own photos with a selfie
Good for
Two photographers covering the same wedding; a family that wants every guest's phone photos in one place; a club, school or trip where everyone adds their shots to one after-event gallery.
Step by step
- 1
Create the group
From your dashboard, in the Group events section, tap Create group. Name it, set the date, and optionally set a join code.
- 2
Share the join link
Your dashboard now shows a shareable link. Text or email it to everyone you want contributing — and share the join code separately if you set one.
- 3
Members join and upload
Each person opens the link, joins, and the group event appears on their own dashboard. They tap Upload to add their photos, which are tagged with who uploaded them.
- 4
Everyone gets their own copy
Every member has their own personalised copy of the event. They can mark their own uploads private, remove photos from just their copy, and download what they want.
Frequently asked questions
- How is a group event different from just sharing a link?
- A shared link lets people view and download photos you uploaded. A group event lets many people upload into one shared gallery, and each member gets their own copy of the event that they manage.
- What does "each person has their own copy" mean?
- Every member sees the shared gallery as their own event on their dashboard. They can mark their own photos private, and deleting a photo from their copy removes it only for them — it stays for everyone else who still has it.
- Who can add more people to the group?
- Every member can see the invite link and code on the Contributors tab and share it to bring in more people. Only the group admin can regenerate the code or remove a member.
- Do contributors need a Picsta account?
- To upload into the group, yes — they open the link and sign up if they're not already in. Once they're a member, the group event lives on their dashboard like any other event.
- Is there a limit on members or photos?
- Group events use their own plan tiers sized by number of contributors and photos, separate from your personal account. You can start free and upgrade the group's plan as it grows.
