How to protect the photos you share
Sharing a gallery doesn't mean giving up control. Mark photos private, lock a share behind a PIN, set links to expire or revoke them, and share just a handful of photos instead of the whole event.
Your controls
- Private photos — hidden from public links, shown with a lock icon
- PIN-protected shares — recipients unlock private photos with a 4-digit code
- Expiring links — set how long a share stays live
- Revoke instantly — disable a link and it stops working immediately
- Share selected — send a few photos without exposing the gallery
Why it matters
Events often mix public moments with private ones. These controls let you share freely with guests while keeping the sensitive shots for family only — or pulling a link entirely once a project wraps.
Step by step
- 1
Mark sensitive photos private
Select photos and choose Mark private. Private photos are hidden from public share links and show a lock icon so you always know what's gated.
- 2
Add a PIN to a share
When sharing, turn on PIN protection and set a 4-digit code. Recipients see public photos immediately and unlock private ones by entering the PIN.
- 3
Set an expiry
Choose how long a share link stays live. When it expires, the link stops working.
- 4
Share only what you want
Instead of the whole event, select a few photos and share just those — recipients see only those, nothing else.
- 5
Revoke any time
Disable a share link instantly from your share settings; it stops working straight away.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I password-protect shared photos?
- Yes. Add a 4-digit PIN to a share — recipients see public photos right away and enter the PIN to unlock private ones.
- Can I hide some photos from a shared link?
- Yes. Mark photos private and they're hidden from public links by default, unlocking only for recipients with the PIN.
- Can I stop sharing after I've sent a link?
- Yes. Disable the link any time and it stops working immediately. Links can also be set to expire automatically.
- Can I share just a few photos instead of the whole event?
- Yes. Select the photos you want and share only those — the recipient won't see the rest of the gallery.
